Koddies 5×7 Challenge — Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before participating in the Koddies 5×7 Challenge. By submitting the Sign-Up Form, you agree to these Terms.
1. Challenge Overview
The Koddies 5×7 Challenge requires participants to use Koddies for seven consecutive days, complete at least five qualifying conversation turns each day, create one public Instagram Reel about their experience, and submit the Reel through the Completion Form.
The purpose of the Challenge is to encourage consistent Korean speaking practice and honest user feedback.
2. Challenge Schedule
1.
Participants may begin the Challenge whenever they choose after submitting the Sign-Up Form.
2.
Each participant must complete the Challenge over seven consecutive calendar days from their chosen start date.
3.
Participants may submit the Sign-Up Form until August 18, 2026 at 11:59 PM KST.
4.
The final Reel and Completion Form must be submitted by August 24, 2026 at 11:59 PM KST.
5.
Winners will be announced on August 26, 2026.
Koddies may update the schedule when reasonably necessary. Any schedule change will be announced through the official Challenge communication channel.
3. Eligibility
To participate, you must:
1.
Be at least 18 years old.
2.
Have an active Koddies account and access to the Koddies app.
3.
Have a public Instagram account.
4.
Be able to keep your Challenge Reel publicly viewable until at least the winner announcement.
5.
Submit only one official Challenge entry.
Koddies may reject an application if the submitted information is incomplete, inaccurate, or cannot be verified.
4. Participation Requirements
A participant must complete all of the following requirements:
1.
Submit the official Sign-Up Form using accurate information.
2.
Use the same email address or User ID connected to the participant's Koddies account.
3.
Complete at least five qualifying conversation turns on each of seven consecutive days.
4.
Create one original Instagram Reel based on the participant's actual Koddies experience.
5.
Publish the Reel publicly on Instagram.
6.
Include the required account tag, hashtags, and prize-challenge disclosure.
7.
Submit the public Reel URL through the Completion Form before the deadline.
Completing only part of the requirements does not qualify a participant for the prize draw.
5. Definition of a Conversation Turn
One qualifying conversation turn means one completed exchange in Koddies:
1.
The participant sends one message to a Koddies character; and
2.
The Koddies character provides one response.
The participant must complete at least five qualifying turns on each of the seven Challenge days, for a minimum total of 35 qualifying turns.
Each Challenge day runs from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM Korea Standard Time. Unused turns cannot be carried over to another day. Additional turns on one day cannot replace turns missed on another day.
6. Instagram Reel Requirements
The official Reel must:
1.
Be original and based on the participant's actual Koddies experience.
2.
Be posted publicly as an Instagram Reel.
3.

Include #KoddiesChallenge and #speakingkorean.
5.
Clearly disclose that the Reel is an entry in a prize challenge.
6.
Be submitted through the Completion Form by August 24, 2026 at 11:59 PM KST.
7.
Remain publicly viewable until at least the winner announcement.
The participant's face does not need to appear. Screen recordings, voice-over, text, reactions, hands-only filming, and other original formats are acceptable.
The Reel does not need to contain positive feedback. Honest opinions, including criticism, are acceptable and will not reduce a participant's eligibility or chances of winning.
A participant may publish additional content, but only one Reel may be used as the official Challenge entry. Cross-posting the same content does not create an additional entry.
7. Prize and Winner Selection
Each selected winner will receive KRW 200,000 in cash.
The number of winners will be determined by the number of eligible and verified finishers:
1.
10–49 verified finishers: one winner.
2.
50–99 verified finishers: two winners.
3.
For every additional group of 50 verified finishers: one additional winner.
Winners will be selected at random from all eligible and verified finishers. Views, likes, follower count, production quality, and popularity will not affect the random draw.
Koddies may verify eligibility and completion before confirming a winner. If a selected participant is ineligible, cannot be verified, submitted false information, or fails to respond within the required period, Koddies may select an alternate winner.
Any taxes, fees, or reporting obligations associated with the prize are the responsibility of the winner unless applicable law requires otherwise.
8. Verification
Koddies may use the email address or User ID submitted by the participant to verify:
1.
The participant's Koddies account;
2.
The participant's daily activity;
3.
The participant's total qualifying conversation turns;
4.
The participant's submitted Reel; and
5.
Compliance with these Terms.
Only information reasonably necessary to verify Challenge completion, eligibility, and compliance will be reviewed.
If the account activity does not match the information submitted by the participant, Koddies may determine that the entry is incomplete or ineligible.
9. Submission and Public Availability
The participant is responsible for submitting a working public Reel URL through the Completion Form.
A Reel that is private, hidden, deleted, restricted, unavailable, or inaccessible to Koddies may be treated as an invalid submission.
The participant is responsible for ensuring that all submitted information is accurate and that the Instagram account remains accessible during the verification period.
10. Winner Contact
Winners will be contacted on August 26, 2026 using the contact information submitted through the Challenge Form.
A selected winner must respond within three calendar days after contact.
Koddies may select an alternate winner if the selected winner:
1.
Does not respond within three calendar days;
2.
Cannot be verified;
3.
Does not satisfy the eligibility requirements;
4.
Submitted inaccurate or incomplete information; or
5.
Cannot legally receive the prize.
11. Content Ownership and Permission
The participant retains ownership of their Reel and all original content included in it.
Participation in the Challenge does not automatically grant Koddies permission to edit, advertise, commercially use, or redistribute the participant's content.
If Koddies wishes to repost or use a participant's Reel, Koddies will request separate permission or enter into a separate agreement. Refusing such permission will not affect the participant's eligibility or chances of winning.
The participant is responsible for ensuring that their Reel does not infringe the rights of any third party.
12. Disqualification
Koddies may disqualify a participant or invalidate an entry if the participant:
1.
Submits duplicate entries or uses multiple accounts to obtain additional entries;
2.
Provides false, misleading, or incomplete information;
3.
Uses bots, fake accounts, automated activity, or manipulated app activity;
4.
Submits stolen, copied, or unauthorized content;
5.
Fails to complete five qualifying turns on each of seven consecutive days;
6.
Submits activity that does not match the participant's Koddies account records;
7.
Makes the Reel private, deletes it, or otherwise prevents verification;
8.
Violates Instagram policies or applicable law;
9.
Attempts to interfere with the operation or fairness of the Challenge; or
10.
Engages in any other fraudulent or abusive conduct.
Koddies' decision regarding eligibility, verification, disqualification, and winner selection will be final to the extent permitted by applicable law.
13. Changes, Suspension, or Cancellation
Koddies may modify, suspend, or cancel the Challenge if necessary because of technical problems, security concerns, operational issues, changes in applicable law, or circumstances beyond Koddies' reasonable control.
If a material change is made, Koddies will provide notice through the official Challenge communication channel where reasonably possible.
14. Instagram Disclaimer
This Challenge is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or officially associated with Instagram.
Participants release Instagram from any responsibility related to the operation of this Challenge.
